The Take Back Your Family Time video features Dr. Bill Doherty
as he discusses the problem of overscheduled kids and underconnected
families with a community. It captures Dr. Doherty at his best as
he talks about the frantic, anxious culture of parenting and outlines
ways families and communities can reclaim quality time. At times lighthearted
and humorous, at times touching, this educational video creates a
striking balance between research and real-life. It calls to attention
the universality of these issues and challenges both families and
communities to take positive steps toward reclaiming their family
time.

| A step-by-step facilitator guide accompanies the Take Back
Your Family Time video. It is ideal for leading discussions
and versatile enough to be used in a variety of settings. Consistent
with the video, this guide is divided into three parts. Part 1 provides
an overview of the issue, Part 2 explores the experiences of other
communities, and Part 3 discusses ways to create and seize opportunities
for increasing family time. Each part begins with a summary of the
corresponding video clip and concludes with an audience question
in italics. The guide also includes one-, two-, or three-session
programming options, as well as additional activities to enrich
the video and promote interactive learning. |
